Lamar Middle School

CThe existing campus at Lamar Middle School was in poor condition and did not have adequate space for the student population. The district decided the best option would be to construct a new campus building adjacent to the existing one. Security was of primary concern in the design of this campus, therefore the classroom wings were placed so that a security guard could see down a hallway from the four corners of the core building. Each wing is actually a “team”, which contains its own science labs and adequate classrooms so that students do not have to walk long distances to change classes.
