D.D. Hachar Elementary School

D.D. Hachar Elementary School’s existing campus was over 30 years old and was not meeting the demands of a growing student population. Many of the classes were taking place in portable classroom buildings. The existing campus was completely demolished because it was not in usable condition. The new school was constructed in two phases: a one-story administration/gym/cafeteria building with some classrooms, and a two-story classroom building.

The school fit snugly on the site and was built around an existing recreational center that is owned by City of Laredo. We were careful to divert any rainwater so that it did not flood this building or cause any drainage issues.
